My (Jacob's) brother Adam and
his wife April had their first baby on October 7th, 2005 at around
7:00pm. She is 7.5 lbs and 20" long. We went and visited
them in the hospital and took a few pictures.

Autumn has excellent color and
was very alert. Her eyes were wide open and she looks very
intently at you when you pick her up. She loves sticking out her
tongue, and is very cute when she both looks at you and moves her tongue
in and out.
We laughed a bit about her feet, which are a bit, um, generously sized.
Her toes are incredibly tiny though, and her fingers are long.

While we were there she was perfectly behaved and seemed fascinated by
the new faces.

April had a 17 hour unmedicated labor. The
pushing stage only lasted 27 minutes, which is probably why Autumn's
head looked well-shaped and not pointy.

We could tell that Adam was very
proud of both Autumn and April. He kept saying how great April did
during labor and how well she handled everything.

Autumn had the hiccups for a
little while. April mentioned how amazing it was that just days
before she was having those hiccups at night inside of her.

Though Autumn is close to the
same size that Anna was when she was born, we were amazed at how tiny
she seemed. In only one year and you can so quickly forget what a
newborn is really like.

Toward the end of our visit
Autumn looked like she was getting tired. Her yawns became more
frequent and she blinked very slowly.
